Honor accelerates development of wide-aspect ratio foldable smartphone

Honor is reportedly accelerating the development of its first wide-aspect ratio foldable smartphone. Currently in the engineering machine testing phase, the device is expected to feature a 7.58-inch internal screen supplied by BOE, supporting a 120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate.

The device is anticipated to utilize a 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite series flagship platform. Its camera system is expected to include a 200-megapixel main sensor and a high-specification periscope telephoto lens. To support high performance, the phone may include a battery capacity of approximately 7000mAh, supporting 80W wired and 66W wireless charging, while maintaining a weight of around 220 grams.

Leaks suggest the phone may use a 14:10 aspect ratio with a 7.6-inch inner screen and a 5.5-inch outer screen. The wide outer screen is designed to function similarly to a standard smartphone for navigation and messaging. A potential launch is projected for the first quarter of 2027.
