HONOR launches Robot Phone with integrated mechanical gimbal

HONOR has officially launched the Robot Phone, a flagship smartphone featuring a built-in 4DoF Titanium Agile Gimbal. This motorized 3-axis mechanical system, developed through over 60 manufacturing processes, allows the camera to physically pan, tilt, and track subjects autonomously. The device is designed to function as a mobile production studio, utilizing a 2.6g titanium motor capable of rotation speeds up to 360 degrees per second.

A key component of the launch is a strategic partnership with ARRI, the professional cinema camera manufacturer. Through a joint imaging laboratory, HONOR has integrated ARRI Image Science into the device, supporting LogC3 color encoding, ARRI Wide Gamut 3, and various ARRI Looks to provide professional-grade cinematic color grading on a mobile platform.

Technical specifications include a dual 200MP camera system—comprising a gimbal-stabilized main sensor and a periscope telephoto lens—alongside the HONOR H1 imaging chip. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 7,060mAh battery, and features a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display with a peak brightness of 6,800 nits. In China, the device is priced starting at 9,999 CNY for the 512GB model.
