HONOR and Ulefone debut smartphones with specialized camera hardware

New smartphone designs featuring specialized camera hardware were highlighted at recent industry events. HONOR has released the Robot Phone, a flagship device featuring a motorized 4DoF gimbal camera system. The 200MP main camera uses a retractable mechanism to physically adjust its orientation, aiming to improve stabilization and subject tracking. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, includes a 7060mAh battery, and runs on Android 16 with MagicOS 10.

Additionally, Ulefone showcased the RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro at IFA 2026. This ruggedized Android phone features a unique detachable action camera that is magnetically embedded into the device. The camera module supports 2.7K resolution at 30fps, can function underwater, and provides a live preview on the phone from up to 50 meters away. The phone is designed for outdoor enthusiasts and content creators, offering various accessories such as tripods and extension rods for the detachable module.
