Honor Robot Phone repair costs revealed for gimbal camera

Honor has released official repair pricing for its new Robot Phone, highlighting the high cost of maintaining its unique integrated gimbal camera system. Due to the complex mechanical components, including a titanium alloy gimbal and motors, replacing the main gimbal camera is estimated to cost 3,079 CNY (approximately $457).

Other camera repairs are significantly cheaper, with the telephoto lens costing 879 CNY and the ultrawide lens costing 199 CNY. Standard repairs include a screen replacement for 1,379 CNY and a battery replacement for 319 CNY.

The most expensive repair component is the motherboard. For the 12GB RAM/512GB ROM model, the motherboard replacement is 4,599 CNY, while the 16GB RAM/1TB ROM version costs 6,599 CNY. These costs represent a substantial portion of the device's retail price, which ranges from 9,999 CNY to 12,999 CNY.

Additionally, leaks suggest Honor may be exploring the expansion of its gimbal camera technology into other product categories, such as tablets or PCs, though the company has not officially commented on these rumors.
