Honor introduces MagicOS 11 with Liquid Glass design and Yoyo AI
Honor has introduced MagicOS 11, a new customization layer based on Android 17. The update features a ‘Liquid Glass’ design aesthetic characterized by transparency and fluid visual effects in menus, widgets, and icons. Honor claims that system animations are up to 20% faster compared to MagicOS 10.
A major highlight is the enhanced Yoyo AI assistant, which is reportedly capable of executing complex tasks involving up to 100 steps. In China, the assistant can connect with over 10,000 third-party AI services, though the availability of these services globally remains to be seen.
Other technical improvements include Storage Space 2.0, a lossless file compression feature designed to free up storage space, and enhanced connectivity for file sharing with Apple, Oppo, vivo, and Xiaomi devices.
The MagicOS 11 update will debut commercially with the Honor Magic9 series. A public beta has already launched for more than 18 devices, including the Magic8 series, Magic V6, and Honor 600 models, with a broader rollout expected between October and November.
