HONOR introduces physical gimbal technology and 200 MP sensor in new devices

HONOR is introducing hardware-focused innovations in its mobile lineup, specifically through the HONOR Robot Phone and the HONOR 400.

The HONOR Robot Phone features a unique mechanical three-axis gimbal system. Unlike standard smartphones that rely on Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and sensor cropping, this device uses a four-degree-of-freedom mechanical system with a titanium motor to stabilize the camera module physically. This approach aims to maintain a wider field of view and utilize native pixels for 4K video without the loss of quality typically associated with digital cropping.

Additionally, the HONOR 400 brings high-resolution imaging to the mid-range market with a 200 MP main sensor. This high megapixel count allows for high-quality digital cropping and more effective 2x zoom by utilizing the center of the sensor rather than stretching pixels. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and includes a 5,300 mAh battery with 66W charging.
