Honor launches Life S3 compact magnetic e-reader
Honor has launched the Life S3, a compact 3.68-inch e-reader designed to attach magnetically to the back of a smartphone. Currently exclusive to the Chinese market, the device is positioned as a low-cost alternative to competitors like Boox and Xteink.
The Life S3 features an E Ink touchscreen with a resolution of 259 pixels per inch (PPI). It runs on a lightweight real-time operating system (RTOS) rather than Android and includes a 650mAh battery capable of providing up to 30 hours of continuous offline reading or approximately one week of use per charge.
To maintain a low price point, the device contains only 16MB of internal storage but supports expansion via a microSD card slot of up to 1TB. Supported file formats include EPUB, PDF, MOBI, DOC, DOCX, and TXT. Connectivity is provided through Wi-Fi 6 (2.4GHz band), and the device includes a microphone and USB-C charging.
