Honor launches MagicOS 11 with Liquid Glass UI and dual architecture
Honor unveiled its next‑generation Android skin, MagicOS 11, at a Beijing event on 6 August. The update introduces a new “Liquid Glass” visual design that adds dynamic transparency, refraction and lighting effects across the interface.
Two proprietary frameworks underpin the changes: the Luminous Architecture, which manages the six‑layer rendering pipeline for the Liquid Glass effect, and the Hummingbird Architecture, which applies a physics‑based engine to improve animation smoothness and responsiveness. Honor says the new system delivers these visual upgrades with minimal impact on battery life and will be available across its device range, from flagship to mid‑range models.
The company also highlighted developer tools that allow third‑party apps to adopt the new visual style with minimal integration effort, and noted that the UI runs on a separate thread to reduce power draw by up to 8 % in heavy‑load scenarios.
