Honor launches Robot Phone with integrated mechanical gimbal
Honor has launched the Robot Phone in Guangzhou, China, a device that integrates a 4-degree-of-freedom (4-DoF) titanium mechanical gimbal directly into its chassis. This hardware allows the camera to physically move, rotate 360 degrees, and track subjects automatically, moving beyond traditional software-based electronic stabilization.
Developed in collaboration with cinema equipment manufacturer ARRI, the phone incorporates professional imaging features such as ARRI LogC3 color science and a 14-bit processing pipeline. The device features a dual 200MP camera array and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. It also includes a 7,060mAh battery and an Agentic OS with the YOYO Pro AI agent, designed to handle complex task planning and physical interactions.
Honor positions this product as a step toward embodied intelligence, aiming to transition from a smartphone manufacturer to an AI terminal ecosystem company. The Robot Phone's mechanical capabilities, including its ability to nod or respond to rhythm, serve as a practical application of the company's research into robotics and physical AI interaction.
