Honor Robot Phone debuts with motorized gimbal camera

Honor has officially launched the Robot Phone, a smartphone featuring a motorized three-axis gimbal system. This mechanical arm allows the camera module to physically move, tilt, and rotate to autonomously track subjects using artificial intelligence. Designed primarily for content creators, the device can function as a self-operating camera, reducing the need for external tripods or stabilizers.

The hardware includes a 200-megapixel main camera, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Through a partnership with ARRI, the phone incorporates professional cinematic features such as 10-bit recording, ARRI LogC3, and Wide Gamut 3 profiles. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and features a large 7,060 mAh battery.

While the device is available in China, international availability via importers is emerging in Europe. However, imported models face significantly higher prices—often 30% to 36% more than domestic Chinese versions—and may lack features like eSIM or Android Auto due to the Chinese ROM. Potential buyers should also note limitations regarding local warranty and network band compatibility.
