Honor launches Magic9 Pro Max flagship with ARRI cinematic technology

Honor has officially launched the Magic9 Pro Max in China, a flagship smartphone specifically designed for video creators and mobile cinematography. Developed in collaboration with ARRI, the device integrates ARRI Image Science, including the ARRI LogC3 curve, 10-bit capture, and ARRI Wide Gamut 3 color space. It features an ARRI CINEMA mode capable of recording 4K video at 60 fps.

The hardware is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor and includes a dual 200-megapixel camera system—comprising an Ultra Night main sensor and a periscope telephoto lens—alongside a 50-megapixel ultra-wide module. Image processing is handled by the 6nm HONOR Imaging Chip H1, which performs real-time AI noise reduction on RAW data. The device features a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a peak brightness of 10,000 nits and is powered by an 8,800 mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.

Following its launch, Honor reported that the top-tier Magic9 lineup saw sales over 70% higher on its third day compared to the previous generation, despite some initial stock shortages. In the Hong Kong market, parallel imports of the device have begun appearing with prices ranging from approximately $7,650 to $9,980 HKD depending on the configuration.
