Honor reveals MagicOS 11 with storage optimization and Liquid Glass design
Honor has revealed details regarding its upcoming MagicOS 11 operating system, which is built on Android 17. The update focuses on significant storage optimization, with the company claiming it can free up as much as 60 GB of space through lossless data compression, automatic deletion of redundant files, and the cleaning of infrequently used applications.
Visual updates include a new interface design called ‘Liquid Glass’ UX, featuring a transparent look with options for matte or glossy finishes. Honor expects a system speed increase of over 20 percent across supported models due to improved animation physics and smoother transitions.
Other key features include multi-protocol fast charging support to improve compatibility with various chargers, the ability to connect two Bluetooth headphones simultaneously, and enhanced network switching in low-signal areas. Additionally, a new family protection feature will allow administrators to remotely end suspicious calls or block risky payments. Internal beta testing has already begun on several devices, including the Magic series and MagicPad 3, with a second wave of testing expected in mid-September.
