HONOR Robot Phone features integrated mechanical gimbal
HONOR has introduced the Robot Phone, a smartphone featuring a fully motorized 4DoF (four degrees of freedom) mechanical three-axis gimbal system integrated into its chassis. Developed in collaboration with ARRI, the device utilizes ARRI Image Science to manage light, color, and contrast. The technical integration includes the HONOR H1 Image Chip, which performs AI noise reduction in the 14-bit 4:4:4 RAW domain, providing up to 14 stops of dynamic range.
Recognized by Time Magazine as one of the Best Inventions of 2026 in the Robotics category, the phone features a robotic arm that swivels the camera module out from the back. The camera system includes a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 200MP zoom lens. AI software allows the camera to track and interact with users automatically.
The device is currently available in the Chinese market, with plans for a future release in Latin America. Pricing in China is set at 9,999 yuan for the 12GB+512GB variant and 12,999 yuan for the 16GB+1TB model.
