Honor Robot Phone to launch Aug 12 with 200 MP camera and ARRI partnership

Honor announced that its upcoming Robot Phone will be released on 12 August 2026 in China. The flagship device features a triple‑camera system: a 200 MP main sensor (1/1.28 in, f/1.6) mounted on a three‑axis robotic gimbal, a 50 MP ultra‑wide lens and a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens. The gimbal motor weighs only 2.6 g and is 65 % smaller with 35 % higher torque density than conventional smartphone stabilisers.

The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and Honor’s in‑house Yuguang H1 image‑signal‑processor. A 6 000 mAh battery and a 6.3‑6.4 inch OLED display round out the hardware. Honor also unveiled its AiMAGE platform, a chip‑device‑cloud imaging engine that combines optics, AI processing and cloud‑based enhancement. The company highlighted a strategic partnership with German cinema‑camera maker ARRI, bringing Log‑C3 video encoding, Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI Looks to the mobile workflow.

The launch follows a brand‑identity refresh that positions Honor as an AI‑ecosystem company, with the slogan “Dare to be”. Pre‑orders have already exceeded expectations, signalling strong market interest ahead of the August debut.
