Honor Robot Phone undergoes durability testing

The Honor Robot Phone, a smartphone featuring a built-in 3-axis gimbal camera mechanism, has undergone durability testing by YouTuber Zack Nelson, known as JerryRigEverything. While the device shows strength in areas like display scratch resistance and heat tolerance, the unique mechanical arm presents specific vulnerabilities.

Testing revealed that the gimbal motors can reach temperatures of approximately 50 °C when movement is obstructed by a finger or object. Additionally, the device lacks the IP68 rating common in flagship Android phones, offering only IP54 protection. This lower rating makes the camera mechanism susceptible to damage from dust and fine sand, which can impede the movement of the gimbal arm.
