Honor unveils MagicOS 11 with Liquid Glass design and advanced AI

Honor has officially unveiled MagicOS 11 at its Global Developer Conference. Built on Android 17, the new operating system introduces a “Liquid Glass” design language characterized by translucent, depth-layered surfaces. This visual overhaul is powered by the proprietary Luminous and Hummingbird architectures, which Honor claims enables system animations to be up to 20% faster than the previous version.

A major focus of the update is the enhanced Yoyo AI assistant. The revamped assistant is designed to act as an agentic operator, capable of executing complex, multi-step automated tasks involving up to 100 individual actions. In the Chinese market, Yoyo integrates with over 10,000 third-party AI services and can navigate more than 1,000 distinct user scenarios.

Additional technical features include Storage Space 2.0, which utilizes lossless data compression to potentially free up 60 GB of storage, and improved cross-ecosystem connectivity that allows for seamless file sharing with Apple, Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi devices. The update will debut on the upcoming Honor Magic 9 series, with public betas already rolling out for several existing models including the Magic8 and Magic V6 series.
