Honselersdijk metal processor reports heavy explosion
A heavy explosion occurred at a metal processing company, Wim de Voeght, located on Stationsweg in Honselersdijk. The incident took place on a Tuesday morning between 9:30 and 10:30 AM.
A company employee stated that the explosion was caused when a pressure vessel unexpectedly entered a cutting machine, creating a loud noise peak during the process. The company noted that such vessels are normally removed beforehand, but this one went unnoticed.
Local residents reported feeling a pressure wave that caused dishes to rattle on tables and doors to flap. While some residents expressed doubt regarding the company's explanation, police have stated that the event appears to be an accident and no criminal offenses have been established.
