Hoover and Opelika face off in Alabama high school football matchup

The Opelika Bulldogs will host the Hoover Buccaneers in the AHSAA Football Game of the Week on Thursday, August 27, 2026. The matchup is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. CT at Bulldog Stadium in Opelika, Alabama.

Hoover enters the contest with a 1-0 record following a 14-8 victory over Muscle Shoals, led by senior quarterback Kaleb Freeman. Opelika, currently 0-0, will be making its season debut after having an open date during the first week of the season. The game will be available for live streaming via the NFHS Network.
