Hop Breeding Company launches Terra Alpha Hops series

Hop Breeding Company (HBC), in partnership with John I. Haas and Yakima Chief Ranches, has launched the Terra Alpha Hops series. This new line of high-alpha hop varieties is designed for sustainability, consistent bitterness, and reliable performance in both agricultural fields and the brewhouse.

The series features the new variety TerraSurge HBC 1325, which offers high yields, resistance to powdery mildew, and a late harvest window. Additionally, the established variety HBC 682, which has seen production of over 36 million pounds since 2018, has been rebranded as TerraFlux to complement the new line.

Developed for growers in the Pacific Northwest, these varieties aim to provide brewers with more resilient supply chains and efficient, sustainable production options.
