Hope: O Primeiro Impacto to premiere in Brazil on October 8

The South Korean science fiction film ‘Hope: O Primeiro Impacto’, directed by Na Hong-jin, is scheduled for release in Brazilian cinemas on October 8. Distributed by Imagem Filmes in partnership with MUBI, the film was featured in the Official Competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.

Set in the isolated village of Hope Harbor near the South Korean Demilitarized Zone, the plot follows a police chief and a local officer attempting to protect their community from extraterrestrial beings. The invasion begins under the guise of a tiger sighting that causes widespread destruction. The production utilized advanced technology from XM2, including electric motorcycles and high-speed slider systems, to execute its action sequences.

The ensemble cast features South Korean actors Hwang Jung-min, Zo In-sung, and Hoyeon, alongside international stars Alicia Vikander, Michael Fassbender, Taylor Russell, and Cameron Britton.
