HopeGoo launches travel deals for Hong Kongers traveling to mainland China

HopeGoo, an online travel booking platform under Tongcheng Travel, has launched the ‘Friday Northbound Deals Day’ campaign to cater to the rising trend of Hong Kong residents traveling to mainland China. Running from September 22 to October 23, the initiative offers weekly discounts on hotels and dining to support the growing demand for short-term and multi-day trips to the Greater Bay Area and other mainland cities.

Data from the platform indicates a significant shift in travel patterns, with Friday high-speed rail bookings up 36% year-on-year and high-quality hotel reservations increasing by 26%. Popular destinations for Hong Kong travelers now include Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, and Chongqing. The campaign includes specific time-slotted deals, such as 50% off mainland hotels and discounted vouchers for popular beverage brands, aimed at reducing travel costs for weekend and holiday trips.
