Horacio Cartes' lawyer denies links to aircraft irregularities

Pedro Ovelar, the legal representative for former Paraguayan President Horacio Cartes, has denied any irregular links between his client and the owners of a Gulfstream aircraft recently detained by Brazilian authorities. The aircraft was rented for Cartes to travel to the United States.

Ovelar clarified that the rental was a private commercial flight service and that Cartes has no connection to the commercial, financial, or judicial activities of the aircraft's owners. He specifically noted that the service provider has no relationship with the Brazilian citizen linked to Banco Master.

According to Ovelar, background checks on the individual presenting as the aircraft's owner showed no criminal record. He emphasized that the aircraft and crew passed all airport and immigration controls in both countries without issue and remain cleared for the planned flights between Paraguay and the United States.
