HoREA proposes condominium terms based on building lifespan

The Ho Chi Minh City Real Estate Association (HoREA) and the Vietnam Real Estate Research and Evaluation Institute (VARS IRE) have proposed determining the usage term of condominiums based on the construction lifespan of the building.

This proposal aligns with Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW, which aims to enhance urban land use efficiency and address long-standing issues in the renovation and reconstruction of old apartment buildings. Under this framework, while land use rights for commercial housing may be long-term, the apartment usage period would be tied to the technical lifespan of the structure.
