Hormel Foods announces Brakebush Brothers acquisition and R&D leadership changes

Hormel Foods Corporation has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Brakebush Brothers, LLC. Following the announcement, company leadership, including Interim CEO Jeffrey Ettinger, President John Ghingo, and CFO Ash Bhumbla, held a conference call to discuss the strategic rationale and financial expectations of the acquisition.

In a separate organizational update, Hormel Foods announced key leadership changes within its Research and Development division. Dr. Aaron Asmus has been promoted to Vice President of R&D, where he will oversee the company’s R&D organization, focusing on innovation, commercialization, food safety, and regulatory excellence. Additionally, Lisa Selk has been appointed Vice President of Growth and Innovation, reporting to Asmus. Her role will focus on connecting R&D efforts with consumer insights and brand strategy to accelerate the commercialization of new products.
