Hormel Foods names John Ghingo as new chief executive officer

Hormel Foods Corporation announced that its board has appointed John Ghingo as president and chief executive officer, effective Oct. 26. Ghingo, who has been president since July 2025 and has more than 25 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods sector, will succeed interim CEO Jeff Ettinger, who will remain on the board.

Board chairman Bill Newlands said Ghingo “has quickly demonstrated his ability to lead at enterprise scale,” and highlighted his record of building strong teams, strengthening iconic brands and delivering results. Ghingo indicated that his focus will be on accelerating investments in technology, data and artificial intelligence while continuing Hormel’s modernization and sustainable growth agenda.
