Horn Petroleum and Vivo Energy partner to distribute Shell lubricants in Somalia

Horn Petroleum has signed an agreement with Vivo Energy to distribute Shell-branded lubricants in Somalia. The deal was signed in Dubai by Horn Petroleum CEO Mahad Abdi Ali and Vivo Energy Vice President Karim Kermen.

According to Horn Petroleum, the partnership aims to improve access to high-quality petroleum products and address previous concerns regarding the standard of lubricants entering the Somali market. The company stated that the agreement should eliminate complaints regarding oil quality, benefiting both the companies and the local transport sector.

Access to high-quality lubricants is expected to support vehicle performance, engine protection, and industrial operations while fostering a more competitive energy market. Vivo Energy, which operates approximately 4,200 service stations across 29 markets, will gain an additional distribution channel for its Shell lubricants portfolio.
