Authorities in the Black Forest National Park are issuing a final warning regarding the Hornisgrinde wolf. Due to the animal's continued proximity to hikers and lack of fear toward humans, officials are planning dispersal attempts this autumn.

If these measures fail to resolve the conflict between the wolf and the public, the animal faces potential culling. National park rangers have appealed to visitors to follow strict rules, such as keeping dogs on leashes, to avoid further incidents. Violations of behavioral rules can result in fines of up to 1,500 euros, and intentional luring of the wolf could be prosecuted as an environmental crime.
