Horror cinema updates: New Blu-ray and streaming releases

Cineverse has announced an upcoming Blu-ray release for the independent slasher film ‘New Fears Eve’. Directed by P. J. Starks and Eric Huskisson, the movie follows three friends at a mandatory New Year’s Eve company party who are hunted by a masked killer known as ‘The Doctor’. The physical release will include 13 featurettes covering the film’s production and cast.

Separately, the film ‘Parasomnia’, written and directed by James Ross II, is set to begin streaming exclusively on Shudder on Friday, September 4. The story centers on a young woman named Riley who experiences night terrors and suspects a demonic figure is manifesting in the real world. A theatrical screening is scheduled for September 2 at the IFC Center in Manhattan.
