Horror franchises expand with new series announcements

Major horror franchises are expanding through new television series. Separately, Peacock has released new posters for ‘Crystal Lake’, a prequel series to the ‘Friday the 13th’ franchise. The show will focus on the backstory of Pamela Voorhees, played by Linda Cardellini, and her son Jason Voorhees, played by Callum Vinson. The narrative explores Pamela’s life as a former singer and the emotional events leading to the franchise's iconic horror elements. The series is scheduled to premiere on October 15.
