Horror hits Crystal Lake and Talk to Me head to streaming
The horror genre is seeing significant movement across major streaming platforms. The "Friday the 13th" prequel series, "Crystal Lake", has launched on HBO Max. Created by Brad Caleb Kane, the series serves as a prequel set eight years before the original film, focusing on the descent of Pamela Voorhees, played by Linda Cardellini. While the series has received high praise on Rotten Tomatoes, it has sparked debate among fans due to a major plot retcon involving the character Grace, played by Gwendolyn Sundstrom, which alters the established franchise canon.
Additionally, Zach Cregger’s Oscar-winning horror hit, "Talk to Me", is scheduled to arrive on Netflix. Following a highly successful theatrical run that significantly exceeded its budget, the film is transitioning to streaming services after more than a year in cinemas.
