Horse racing summer meets conclude with 18 stakes races over Labor Day weekend

The summer horse racing season concludes this Labor Day weekend with 18 stakes races held across five different tracks. Major meets at Saratoga and Del Mar are scheduled to close on Monday, September 7.

Kentucky Downs in Franklin, Kentucky, will host eight stakes races during the holiday weekend, including the Kentucky Downs Turf Cup (G2) and the Turf Sprint (G2), both of which serve as Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” qualifiers. The Nashville Derby (G2) is also a featured event at the track.

At Del Mar, the Del Mar Futurity (G1) and the Del Mar Debutante (G1) will feature 2-year-old horses. Saratoga will host the Hopeful Stakes (G1) on Sunday. The weekend's action also includes the second leg of Canada's Triple Crown at Fort Erie on Monday.

Broadcasting coverage for the weekend includes NBC Sports providing two hours of live coverage from Kentucky Downs on Saturday, while FanDuel TV and Peacock will offer live streaming for Kentucky Downs and Del Mar races. Saratoga's coverage will be available via FOX Sports.
