Horsham man arrested for alleged $700,000 NDIS fraud

A 48-year-old man from the Horsham area has been arrested following an investigation into the alleged fraud of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Detectives from the Hamilton Crime Investigation Unit and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) conducted a joint probe into the matter.

Investigators allege that between June 28, 2024, and June 30, 2026, the man defrauded the scheme of approximately $700,000. It is alleged that the NDIS participant established two businesses to facilitate the fraud, submitting false invoices for services he claimed to have received and diverting the funds into his personal bank accounts.

Police also allege the individual dealt with property suspected to be the proceeds of crime. On August 26, authorities executed a search warrant at a residential property in Horsham, leading to the man's arrest. He is scheduled to be interviewed by police regarding the incidents.
