Horst Lichter discusses miniature advertising pillar on ZDF show
During an episode of the ZDF antiques show ‘Bares für Rares’, presenter Horst Lichter inspected a miniature model of a historical advertising pillar, known as a Litfaßsäule. Lichter expressed a personal interest in historical advertising and revealed that he once considered placing a full-sized pillar in his garden.
The miniature object, which is roughly the size of a small beer bottle, was presented by two friends, Friederike and Juliane. Expert Annika Raßbach identified the item as a model of the advertising pillar named after its 19th-century inventor, Ernst Litfaß. The miniature features well-preserved reproductions of historical advertising motifs, including a ‘Moulin Rouge’ poster, reminiscent of Parisian city life.
