Hospital Belén implements advanced renal replacement therapy

Hospital Belén in Trujillo has implemented Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), a specialized treatment for patients facing severe acute kidney injury, sepsis, and multi-organ failure.

The hospital utilized the multiFiltratePRO® platform, specifically the CVVHD modality with an EMiC® filter, to allow for continuous blood purification over 24 to 72 hours. Unlike conventional hemodialysis, this technology is designed for hemodynamically unstable patients, as it performs treatment progressively to reduce cardiovascular impact.

This advancement is part of a broader modernization effort in the La Libertad region aimed at improving specialized medical infrastructure and reducing the need to transfer critical patients to more complex centers.
