Hospital Bicentenario expands capacity and services in Guayaquil

Hospital Bicentenario in Guayaquil has significantly increased its daily patient capacity, growing from approximately 300 to between 750 and 800 patients per day. This expansion follows infrastructure improvements and the addition of new medical personnel.

Key enhancements include the establishment of a new Imaging Center, equipped with tomography, ultrasound, and X-ray technology, representing a USD 500,000 investment. The hospital has also opened a Pediatrics department and introduced specialized services in Dentistry, Cardiology, Traumatology, and Gynecology. Additionally, the clinical laboratory and pharmacy services have been strengthened.

On June 24, 2025, the hospital reached a milestone of one million patients treated. Local administration officials stated that services are provided free of charge to all users, regardless of whether they have private insurance or are affiliated with the IESS.
