Hospital Carlos Marx workers commemorate 1977 insurrection

Health workers at the Hospital Carlos Marx in Managua held a political-cultural event to commemorate the 1977 insurrectionary movement known as ‘Octubre Victorioso’. The ceremony included folkloric dances, poetry recitations, and cultural performances dedicated to the heroes and martyrs of the struggle against the Somoza dictatorship.

Dr. John Delgado, Director of the hospital, described the 1977 events as a turning point that increased public awareness and support for the Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional. The commemoration specifically referenced historical milestones such as the October 13th events in San Carlos and the battle at Hacienda San Fabián led by Daniel Ortega. The hospital staff reaffirmed their commitment to providing medical services as part of the government's community health model.
