Hospital Central de San Isidro upgrades digestive diagnostic technology

The Hospital Central de San Isidro has implemented a new high-definition digital endoscopy tower to improve digestive diagnostics and expand patient care capacity. The investment of US$ 140,000 was used to acquire the Olympus EVIS EXERA III (190 series) platform.

The new system features HDTV screens and microscopic observation tools designed for early disease detection. It includes a rapid capture system to ensure focused images even during natural body movements, reducing distortions.

This technological upgrade replaces an analog Olympus tower over 15 years old and a Pentax unit acquired in 2023 that faced technical limitations and spare part shortages. The new platform is compatible with the hospital’s existing flexible tubes, allowing for the continued use of current instruments with the improved digital processor. The municipality expects the increased speed of the equipment to increase daily appointments and reduce patient waiting times.
