Hospital Central in Mato Grosso reaches 2,000 surgeries in seven months
The Hospital Central de Alta Complexidade in Mato Grosso has completed 2,000 surgeries within its first seven months of operation. This milestone includes more than 70 robotic procedures, marking the introduction of robotic surgery into the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) in the state of Mato Grosso.
Managed by Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, the facility offers 12 surgical specialties, including urology, pediatric surgery, orthopedics, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, and vascular surgery. Robotic technology is currently utilized in urology, pediatrics, digestive system procedures, and gynecology.
Iuri Tamasauskas, the coordinator of the surgical line, noted that the hospital is moving into a phase focused on development, teaching, research, and innovation. The hospital employs a team of 172 doctors to support its diverse range of high-complexity medical services.
