Hospital Clínico de València named pediatric traumatology reference unit

The Hospital Clínico Universitario de València has been designated as a reference unit for pediatric orthopedic surgery and traumatology. This role will provide coverage for the health departments of Vinaròs, Castellón, La Plana, Valencia Clínico-Malvarrosa, Sagunto, and Gandia within the Castellón and Valencia Nord interdepartmental health groupings.

The designation recognizes the hospital's three decades of experience in diagnosing and treating complex musculoskeletal diseases in children and adolescents. The unit specializes in high-complexity, low-prevalence cases, including congenital pathologies, traumatic injuries, infections, neuromuscular diseases, tumors, and growth alterations. Between 2020 and 2025, the unit performed 880 complex pediatric orthopedic procedures.
