Hospital de Amor in Palmas receives major funding boost

Construction of the Hospital de Amor in Palmas, Tocantins, is progressing through significant fundraising efforts and political articulation. The 6th ‘Direito de Viver’ auction, supported by Aprosoja Tocantins, raised over R$ 532,000 to assist in completing the facility. These funds are intended for the construction of a pavilion that will house inpatient beds, a surgical center, and intensive care units (ICUs).

Henrique Prata, CEO of Fundação Pio XII, reported that the unit has already received R$ 82.389 million and features 22,000 square meters of built area. Prata noted that Senator Eduardo Gomes was responsible for securing approximately 75% of the resources invested in the project to date. The hospital aims to expand oncological diagnosis and treatment in Tocantins and neighboring states, reducing the need for patients to travel to other regions for specialized care.
