Hospital de la Mujer Zacatecana staff protest director's removal

Medical and nursing staff at the Hospital de la Mujer Zacatecana held a protest following the removal of director Graciela Vázquez Sandoval. Vázquez Sandoval stated that Carlos Hernández Magallanes, the coordinator of IMSS-Bienestar, informed her of her dismissal without providing formal written documentation. She noted that her appointment was granted by Governor David Monreal Ávila and requested official notification from him directly.

While reasons for the removal reportedly included financial and medical care concerns, Vázquez Sandoval denied responsibility for hospital finances, noting that resources are managed by IMSS-Bienestar since its incorporation. During the demonstration, staff also highlighted critical shortages of medical supplies, medications, and multidisciplinary personnel, specifically noting a lack of pediatricians, chemists, and nurses.
