Hospital de la Plana in Vila-real has implemented a new comprehensive traceability system for high-risk medications. Developed by the Hospital Pharmacy Service in collaboration with the Day Hospital nursing team, the system tracks medication from prescription through pharmaceutical preparation to final administration.

The technology utilizes unique codes, smart infusion pumps, and individualized wristbands to ensure patients receive the correct prescribed treatments. This automated process links clinical information in real time, creating an auditable record to minimize medication errors and enhance patient safety.
