Hospital de São João faces lawsuit over 2019 kidnapping attempt

The parents of a girl who was the target of a kidnapping attempt at Hospital de São João in 2019 have filed a lawsuit seeking 60,000 euros in compensation for moral damages. The trial began at the Administrative and Fiscal Court of Porto.

The parents allege that the hospital failed to provide adequate security and vigilance. They expressed feelings of being ignored by the institution following the incident, stating that the hospital never provided clarifications or support. The mother described the event as a terror that has left lasting psychological impacts on their family.
