Hospital Estadual de Formosa opens new emergency wing
The Hospital Estadual de Formosa Dr. César Saad Fayad (HEF) has opened its new general emergency room, serving the Northeast region and the surroundings of the Federal District in Brazil. The new 1,870-square-meter wing is designed for urgent and emergency care, featuring five consultation rooms, 13 observation beds, 10 emergency beds, 13 medication administration beds, and specialized rooms for suturing, casting, and collection.
This new sector is part of a larger R$ 112 million renovation and expansion project. Once completed, the hospital's capacity will increase from 87 to 298 beds, including 40 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds, five surgical rooms, and specialized emergency units for trauma, pediatrics, gynecology, and obstetrics. Governor Daniel Vilela noted that the full expansion is scheduled for completion by July of next year. Despite the ongoing construction, the hospital has maintained its services through separated patient flows.
