Hospital General de Itapúa expands specialized services

The Hospital General de Itapúa (HGI) has reached a milestone of 102 patients treated through specialized teleconsultations. This digital initiative, supported by the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare, provides access to nutrition, psychology, and adolescent health services without requiring patients to travel to the medical center.

The program connects the hospital with Family Health Units (USF) in General Artigas, General Delgado, Jesús, San Pedro del Paraná, and San Rafael del Paraná. This digital transformation aims to improve accessibility and timely care for populations facing transportation difficulties.

In a separate medical initiative, the hospital also conducted a pediatric surgery marathon. Approximately 40 children benefited from the program, which saw an average of 15 surgeries performed daily. This effort was carried out through cooperation between the Ministry of Health, IPS, and the Government of Itapúa.
