Hospital Geral de Caxias do Sul to conduct fire drill

Hospital Geral (HG) in Caxias do Sul will conduct a fire and evacuation drill on Wednesday, November 4, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The exercise is organized by the Specialized Service in Safety Engineering and Occupational Medicine (SESMT) of the Fundação Universidade de Caxias do Sul, in partnership with the Fire Department, SAMU, and the Federal Highway Police (PRF).

During the simulation, there will be a temporary traffic blockage on the BR-116 highway in the direction of Centro–Ana Rech. Hospital services will continue to operate normally throughout the activity.

Danieli Madruga de Souza, coordinator of SESMT, stated that the training is vital due to the presence of patients with varying levels of dependency. The hospital maintains a brigade of over 400 trained professionals to manage risks, assist in evacuations, and inspect safety equipment.
