Hospital Infantil Maria Alice Fernandes to open 10 neonatal care beds

A court order has mandated the opening of 10 intermediate neonatal care unit (UCINco) beds at the Hospital Infantil Maria Alice Fernandes (HIMAF) in Natal. This decision follows mediation efforts involving the Public Ministry of Rio Grande do Norte, the Federal Public Ministry, and other regional health and legal institutions.

With the addition of these beds, HIMAF will provide a total of 30 specialized beds for children and newborns, including 10 pediatric ICU beds, 10 neonatal ICU beds, and 10 intermediate care beds. To ensure the functionality of this expanded structure, a series of health professionals, including neonatologists, pediatricians, and various technicians, have been summoned to join the hospital staff.
