Hospital João XXIII laboratory renews ISO 9001 certification

The Clinical Analysis Laboratory of Hospital João XXIII, part of the Minas Gerais State Hospital Foundation (Fhemig), has renewed its ISO 9001 certification. By 2026, the laboratory will have maintained this certification for 12 consecutive years.

The renewal follows a supervision audit conducted by the Fundação Vanzolini, which evaluated various operational processes. These included quality management systems, the distribution of supplies, exam performance and release, decontamination procedures, and personnel management.

Laboratory and Transfusion Agency Coordinator Paulo Leão stated that the long-term maintenance of this certification reflects a permanent commitment to process quality and result reliability for users of the Unified Health System (SUS). Recent improvements to the facility include system upgrades and the automation of urinalysis processes.
