Hospital La Fe safety deficiencies reported after security guard accident

The Solidaridad union has reported significant safety deficiencies at the Hospital Universitario y Politécnico La Fe in Valencia following an accident involving a security guard. The incident occurred on April 30, 2026, when a worker from Clece Seguridad suffered a knee injury while descending from a security booth. The union claims the access point had an inadequate 30.5-centimeter drop, which they deem ergonomically improper.

The Labor and Social Security Inspectorate has since confirmed irregularities regarding access to the booth and suggested that the injury may be recognized as a work-related accident. This finding marks a shift for the employee, whose medical leave was initially processed as a common illness. The inspectorate's report also indicates that responsibilities may be sought for failures in occupational risk prevention.
