Hospital Materno Infantil Reynosa delivers healthy triplets
The Hospital Materno Infantil in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, successfully delivered healthy triplets via a scheduled cesarean section at 35 weeks of gestation. The newborns consist of two girls, weighing 1.700 kg and 2.100 kg, and one boy weighing 2.200 kg.
The 24-year-old mother and the infants are reported to be out of danger. While the larger infants were fed via bottle and are transitioning to breastfeeding, the smallest baby remains under medical surveillance and will be fed via tube until reaching a weight of at least 1.800 kg.
Hospital Director Eduardo López Torres noted that the pregnancy was conceived naturally and received adequate prenatal care, which allowed the gestation to reach 35 weeks. None of the infants required neonatal intensive care, remaining in the nursery for observation only.
